June Inspiration by Judy

Hello all!
It's Judy here to share my inspiration project for June!

And, since it's June I thought I would do a Wedding card project.

I used Here Comes the Bride.

I colored my image with pencils, added stickles
and then chose some solid card stock in white and shimmer pink.

Next, I cut pink and white mats to fit my 5 1/2 x 6 card base
and used some Spellbinders dies to cut 3 other layers.

I embossed the white mat.
layered the die cuts. pulled out some embellishments:
ribbon, gems, paper roses

Everything was added to the card base
and the project is complete!

I love the way it turned out!
I hope you do too!

Summer Celebration

Hi Everyone! I'm terribly sorry about the length of time I it has been since I blogged last. I was in the Hospital on a ventilator for several weeks due to some medical complications. I'm home now and trying my best to get back in the swing of things. I currently have a tracheotomy in place and once the swelling goes down in my throat they will remove it and I will be back to normal. I have found it a bit challenging to do my painting and coloring due to some shaking that has developed from the medications I'm taking but I'm not giving up!

I have a card I recently made using an image from Cute As A Button. It's one of my favorites because it captures the feeling of summer and all the celebrations that come with it. I hope you enjoy my card! This would be a great image to use for a 4th of July Picnic, or a Family Reunion Invitations.

I used Prisma Colored Pencils to color the image. The beach sand and sky were done using TH Distress inks and a mini inker. The watermelon has Glossy Accents to give it a wet shiny look. I used a 6 x 6 card base and TH distress ink to give the edges of the card and background paper some depth and detail. I used a Regal Die Set and  Stitched Circle Die set to cut out the image. All of the Patriotic Stars are from a set I picked up at the Dollar Store last year. She is so much fun to color and has so many different uses how can you resist!?!

I hope you are inspired to create something fun and to get out and enjoy the summer! Hugz

Inspiration by Nicky - June

Here is my inspiration for you today. I hope you all like it :)

I made this card using the 'Enjoying the rain' image from Cute As A Button. Find it at the shop link below.

Here are some step by step instructions of how I made the card.

chose some paper that matched the theme of the image and a card blank that matched the size of the image. I chose a 5"x5" card blank.

I coloured the image. I wanted it to be colourful so selected my usual colours for skin and hair then added a good mix of colours.

I used the following Promarkers and Copics:

Umbrella - Lipstick Red, Yellow, YR21, YR24, black
Puddle and rain - Cornflower and Pastel Blue
Hair - YR21, Y21, E33.
Clothes, bag and boots - Cool Grey 4, Black, Warm Grey 2, Warm Grey 1, Pale Pink, Rose Pink.
Skin - E11, E21, E04, E00, E000.

I added a little bit of the clear wink of stella pen onto the rain drops and puddle to add alittle sparkle.
I cut the image to a suitable sizeto fit the card blank. I mounted the patterned paper onto the card blank, measuring 6mm smaller than the card blank on both sides. I attached it with double sided tape.

I mounted the image onto the paper with foam tape.

To finish I cut out a LOTV sentiment to add to the bottom RH corner and added matching coloured gems in each corner of the card and image.

The Importance of Tea - June Inspiration

Here's my June inspiration project, isn't he fun.  This is the Mad Hatter, colored with Chameleon pens, Zig Kurecolor pens, Tim Holtz Distress pens by Ranger and a touch of CraZart pencil and a home made blender pen.

The background is a hand stamped oversized card, this card measures 6x12 inches .... yes I like my oversized cards, they are so much fun.  It's Craft Smith red card stock stamped with white Momento Ink and a mixture of stamps... tea cups, pocket watch, harlequin diamonds..and a few hearts for good measure.

The image is printed and colored on Canson Mix Media paper and  mounted on a Darice Adhesive foam sheet.

The flourish is created using a mixture of Gina Marie Designs dies... pine cones, pine needles and  fern and  the berries came from a  holiday garland.  The sentiment was one I found on Goodreads.com and is by Robert Godden.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the card.

I Dream Of Jeannie

I was thinking about some of my favorite TLC sentiments and recalled this one.  Knowing I had my Cute As A Button inspiration post coming up...I HAD to get Jeannie.

For this card I used feathers, string beads, a stick pin I made, some fabric butterflies, and old earring, gems, ribbon and flowers.  I topped the whole thing off with part of a 'punch around the page' border punch.  The image was colored using ink, chalk and glitter gel pen.

I don't know about you, but I have my two go to glues that I use on just about every card I make.  I love using Glossy Accents to adhere my feathers, flowers, gems (yes, even the ones with the sticky backs), metals and butterflies.  I use a glue I get from the dollar tree (a one dollar store) for my ribbon.  I also use the cheaper glue to adhere my papers.  I also use my Glossy Accents over my glitter gel pens, it makes the glitter stand out more.  I also use my Glossy Accents on my stick pins when I make them.

Enjoy!
